Reviews for Heffelfinger's Coffee, Tea, & Specialty Foods
Review highlights
Based on 53 reviewsHeffelfinger's Coffee, Tea, & Specialty Foods is widely praised for its friendly and attentive customer service, particularly impressive given the shop’s small size and busy atmosphere within the Allentown Fairgrounds Market. Visitors consistently highlight the variety and quality of the coffee and tea offerings, with several noting the affordability and unique sampler options that encourage trying new flavors. The shop’s convenient location and aromatic environment draw customers in, while staff familiarity with regular patrons enhances the personalized experience. Limited hours and space can lead to occasional hustle, but overall, the brand is recognized for delivering delicious drinks and a welcoming atmosphere that keeps customers returning.
It’s such a small spot with limited hours. It obviously will get hectic. With as busy as it gets, these guys are amazing. They keep track of someone who doesn’t quite know the store, and are receptive to my questions I didn’t ask yet. I was in and out within five minutes after buying ground coffee and an iced drink. I would go crazy. Keep it up. You all are awesome and deserve all the business.
This is a small coffee shop tucked inside a farmers market alongside other little stores. We originally came for breakfast, but the smell of fresh coffee pulled us in, and my wife couldn’t resist trying it (I don’t drink coffee myself). The customer service was excellent probably the best we’ve had in a long time. The gentleman behind the counter was very helpful, guiding my wife through different options since she wanted to try something new. She enjoyed her iced coffee and said it wasn’t anything extraordinary, but it was good enough to finish the whole cup. The only downside was the price about $8 for an iced coffee, which is actually more than Starbucks, who has excellent coffee.
The coffee and chai here are delicious at a really affordable price for the sizes you can get. I really recommend checking this place out if you're ever in the farmers market!
Nice part of the Allentown Fairgrounds Market. Many, many varieties of custom roasted coffees and teas. The aroma of this shop within a market really draws you in. People are friendly and helpful . . . and BUSY. Obviously popular. We tried a couple of their varieties. One thing I especially liked is that they have quite a few "one-pot samplers" for $1.95. You can try something new without investing in an entire half-pound bag. Nice touch!!
We've been going here for over 2.5 years at this point, and have never had a better drink anywhere else, regardless of what I get, if you want a delicious drink, definitely come here, and then walk 20 feet to Little Miss Korea and have some K-Fries or Bao Buns. Logan and Sammy have been incredibly lovely, and had basically memorized our preferences by visit 3, to the point where if my spouse goes and orders by themselves Heffel's automatically makes mine quarter sweet with oat milk. I understand the few complaints on pricing on the loose-leaf and the coffee beans, everything is so expensive nowadays, but I've genuinely never had quality teas or coffee's for less than that, especially for the convenience. When I want okay tea for grocery store prices I go there, when I want quality teas, I come here. Wouldn't try to buy leather shoe's at a Walmart, you know? I definitely don't understand the few complaints on tone and behavior from Heffelfinger's. When I'm unfamiliar with a place or trying something new, I am WILDLY indecisive and struggle to make choices timely or concretely, and Sammy and Logan have always been endlessly patient, and helped me pick what they think would be good until we found my favourites. It feels like the people who left those reviews were people who had Dunkin or Starbucks expectations and brought in a demeanor that was returned in kind, at worst. I've never seen any of them even raise their voice. TL;DR : Logan and Sammy are lovely, everything is delicious, and in terms of quality and convenience you definitely get what you're paying for. I fully recommend getting the Blueberry Lemon Bar Tea Latte, a London Fog, or the Indigo Punch with Pineapple, all Iced of course.
Delicious french vanilla iced coffee, & I bought a half pound of macaroon coffee grounds. Very smooth & light. My coffee pot turns off after 2 hours, & while other coffees taste burnt at that point, this one did not. Sooooo delicious! I'll definitely buy more, because I'm getting tired of the inconsistency with store bought coffee. The store is very clean, very comfortable, & the staff was beyond wonderful! Super friendly & helpful people, & not all in your face. Thank you!
